The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Msunduzi today calls on Mayor Mzi Thebolla to do the noble thing and resign for failing in his duties.
This follows the recent outcry across the municipality over water crisis with many residents having endured days on end without water.
Ever since he took office, the city is collapsing in all ends. People have no access to water, which is a human right, more electricity outages than before, waste collection has become worse, more illegal buildings in the city, traffic not well managed, the corruption is rife and the Mayor himself is implicated and alleged to be involved.
The City is collapsing with him at the helm. The DA previously put a motion for the Mayor to be investigated and was defeated by ANC and its alliance partners.
We are now calling on the Mayor to do a noble thing by stepping down in his position or face a motion of no confidence. With him as the Mayor, the City is far from obtaining a clean audit.
