Where in the world is ‘Gadaffi’?

Issued by Councillor Privi Makhan – DA KwaDukuza Caucus Leader

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaDukuza Local Municipality has noted the glaring absence of newly elected uMkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP) councillor, Vishnugopal “Doeshiee” “Gadaffi” Govender, from his first council meeting yesterday.

The councillor who had already been officially sworn in, decided not to pitch for his first council meeting.

This is a week after “Gadaffi”, won the KwaDukuza Ward 28 by-election, snatching the ward from the ANC.

The residents of Ward 28 in KwaDukuza must be reminded that the 2026 local government elections are around the corner, and your vote to a populist political party, who put forward recycled “leaders”, will result in your voice simply behind diluted in council, as a direct result of lack of credible leadership. The MK in KwaDukuza is merely the ANC 2.0, and neither one of these parties are capable of leading anyone other than their dwindling membership lists.

The people of KwaDukuza deserve a government that can deliver clean and accountable governance in 2026, and this can only be achieved under the DA.
