The Democratic Alliance (DA) in eThekwini today calls on the City Manager, Musa Mbhele to urgently account for the municipality’s failure to fill critical senior vacancies.

A recent reply from the municipality has revealed that 12 senior posts are filled in an acting appointment and or responsibility allowance capacity.

Permanent appointments provide accountability, stability and continuity, allowing officials to develop and implement long-term plans and strategies. Officials accumulate institutional knowledge and expertise, enabling them to make informed decisions and navigate complex issues.

These officials can provide strong leadership and direction, inspiring confidence and trust among team members and stakeholders.

The appointments of permanent staff can boost morale and motivation among team members, who are more likely to feel secure and valued under the stable leadership.

We strongly believe that these officials can enhance the organisation’s credibility and reputation, as they are perceived as committed and invested in the success of the city.

Permanent appointments the eThekwini Munipality can reap the benefits of stability, accountability, and leadership, ultimately leading to improved performance and success.
