The DA in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature is pleased to announce the election of Martin Meyer (view here) as Caucus Chairperson.

The position has been created to ensure the smooth-running of the Caucus in the build-up to the 2024 elections. This as the DA strives to continue playing a major role within the provincial government as KZN’s only effective opposition.

The DA is delighted to have Martin as Chairperson of our 11-member Caucus team. We have no doubt that with his considerable experience, he will add great value.

Martin cut his political teeth in the field of Human Rights, particularly within the LGBTIQ+ community. An accomplished politician, he served as the DA Councillor for Ward 27 in eThekwini from 2011 to 2019.

Between 2013 to 2016 he also served as Deputy Caucus Leader in the Metro and as DA Whip of the Human Settlements and Infrastructure Committee.

In 2019, Martin was elected to the KZN Legislature where he has served on the Human Settlements, Public Works and Agriculture portfolio committees and is currently the DA KZN Spokesperson on COGTA.

The DA remains committed to working tirelessly to improve the lives of the people in our province.
