It is with deep sadness that the Democratic Alliance (DA) learns of the passing of Mr Martin Sithole, the Acting Municipal Manager of Endumeni Local Municipality, who was appointed by the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) in October 2025.
Mr Sithole was a brilliant individual who brought with him a wealth of experience in public administration. In the short time that he served, he demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a genuine commitment to improving the functioning of the municipality.
His humility, insight, and passion for public service left a lasting impression on all who had the opportunity to work with him.
His passing is a great loss to Endumeni Local Municipality and the broader public service. South Africa has lost a committed servant who worked tirelessly to strengthen governance and service delivery.
