The Democratic Alliance (DA) commends the uMngeni Municipality for its continued commitment to improving access to technology and opportunity in rural communities. The recent opening of a new computer centre in Zenzani Village, marks another milestone in the municipality’s drive to bring services, education, and digital skills closer to the people.

This initiative demonstrates what capable and transparent governance can achieve when public resources are used responsibly and in the best interests of residents. By bridging the digital divide, the uMngeni Municipality is empowering young people, learners, job seekers, and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to thrive in a modern economy.

The DA believes that access to technology is not a privilege but a necessity for progress. The success of uMngeni serves as a shining example of how DA-led governments are delivering tangible change, fostering innovation, and building inclusive local economies.

We congratulate Mayor Chris Pappas, Deputy Mayor Sandile Mnikathi, the municipal leadership, and all partners involved in this project for their dedication to service delivery and for proving that good governance changes lives.
