The Democratic Alliance in KwaDukuza notes the removal of ANC deployed Lindile Nhaca, by her own political parties hand.
While the DA will not be drawn into fixing the problems of another political party, we call for the election of a new mayor to unfold within the prescribed timeframes.
The motion submitted by the Democratic Alliance to remove the speaker of council, Councillor Govidammal “Dolly” Govender, has set a precedent that the ANC simply cannot govern with arrogance as if they are the ruling party in council. Despite this motion being unsuccessful, we remain steadfast in our view that the speaker of council is simply incapable of conducting the business of council in a non- partisan manner.
We will continue to hold the ANC to account until they are removed from KwaDukuza in 2026.
