The DA in the uMngeni Municipality is delighted to announce that Nompumelelo Buthelezi has joined the DA caucus in the uMngeni Local Municipality .
Councillor Buthelezi previously served as the Deputy Mayor of the municipality. Shortly before the 2021 local government elections she left the ANC and endorsed the DA as her preferred political party to lead the uMngeni Municipality. She left the ANC citing their inability to deal with corruption, the visible lack of service delivery, and the failure to deliver on decades of promises.
She brings a wealth of experience, political insight, and institutional knowledge to the DA caucus in uMngeni.
Since 2021 Councillor Buthelezi has been spending time with her family, growing her small business, and has continued to be active in the DA in various communities.
