ANC cadre deployment, the root of eThekwini collapse

The DA in eThekwini will be approaching the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to request an urgent investigation into the ANC’s abuse of the Employment Equity Act to advance cadre deployment.

This as the DA has received numerous complaints from employees, particularly in the Electricity Department about being overlooked for job promotions, even though some of them have been employed for over 10 years and are qualified, due to their skin color.

The DA believes in equal opportunities for all, while on the other hand, the ANC has been using racial quotas to instead award comrades and loyalists who are not even qualified for these jobs, which has led to the collapse of eThekwini.

The ANC has continued to sideline anyone who is not a card-carrying member, further enabling corruption.

It is for this reason that we will be approaching the SAHRC over these allegations. We will not allow the ANC to use the public purse as their piggybank.

To redress inequality, we must do away with policies that brought division.

Residents should equally benefit from the economy of the City that they are equally funding.
