The DA in Msunduzi voted against the municipality’ organogram that was tabled without proper consultation.
This bloated organogram that does not speak to the needs of the City including the urgency of critical posts such as much needed senior engineers and chartered accountants, was passed following a majority vote during a Special Full Council on Friday.
The DA will review this organogram and put in a motion to challenge its accuracy and allow for stakeholders and for consultation to commence.
Corporate Services Committee members were never privy to the finalized organogram structure to allow them to engage and make alternative suggestions.
Further cause for concern is the way this organogram was rushed and passed in council, without allowing for consultation with the various unions and stakeholders. Stakeholders were informed of the workshop on the organogram the morning it was to be passed. They then objected and requested more time to study the organogram but were ignored and told it would be passed regardless of the outcome of their objections.
The DA then opposed the organogram in its current structure.
Without a properly instituted organogram, the ANC will continue their disregard for appointments based on merit, fueling cadre deployment and financial mismanagement.
