The DA in KwaZulu-Natal welcomes the action taken by the IFP against AbaQulusi Mayor, Councillor Mncedisi Maphisa and Alfred Duma Local Municipality Councillor Abbas Warasally.
According to a statement by the IFP, the National Executive Committee has resolved to recall Mayor Maphisa, with new Mayor expected to be announced soon, this includes Councillor Warasally who was also recalled with his resignation effective immediately.
Effective and clean governance can only be achieved through consequence and accountability. This bodes well for the future relationship between the IFP and the DA as we move towards the 2024 Elections.
