The political landscape across eThekwini is changing, and the growing number of residents joining the Democratic Alliance demonstrates that communities are ready for a new direction.
In recent weeks, two ANC councillors, Marco Mbambo of Ward 8 and David Ngubane of Ward 16, publicly joined the DA. Both were elected as ANC councillors in 2021, and their decisions reflects growing concern about the ANC’s leadership and governance.
This has led to the DA welcoming approximately 500 former ANC members in Marianhill, as well as a further 115 new members from KwaNdengezi, Newlands and surrounding areas.
Yesterday, that momentum continued in Mhlasini, where more than 20 young people and an 80-year-old grandmother joined the DA. Their decision represents a powerful expression of hope and confidence in the prospect of a better future for generations to come.

These growing numbers show that the people are choosing the DA because they see a credible alternative and believe in our commitment to building a municipality that works for everyone.

Most importantly, an increasing number of young people are joining the DA. They refuse to accept another generation of unfulfilled promises. They want jobs, opportunities, safer communities and a municipality that works for everyone.
The momentum will continue this Sunday in Cato Crest and KwaNdengezi.
