DA proud to announce KZN Legislature Caucus portfolio roles as province begins moving in the right direction

The DA is proud to announce its KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Legislature Caucus members and their roles within the government of provincial unity (GPU) following the 2024 elections.

The process of nominating and appointing MPLs to particular roles – including key Legislature positions, portfolio committee chairpersons and spokespersons – has been very thorough. In each case we have sought to ensure the right candidate for the position.

We are therefore pleased to announce the following roles;

• Hannah Winkler, MPL: Caucus Deputy Whip/DA KZN Spokesperson on Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA)

• Martin Meyer, MPL: KZN MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure

• Marlaine Nair, MPL: KZN CoGTA Portfolio Committee Chairperson/DA KZN Spokesperson on CoGTA/DA KZN Spokesperson on Public Participation and Petitions (PPP) and;

• Mzamo Billy, MP: DA KZN Permanent Delegate to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP)

For the first time in many years, KZN’s people have hope in the form of a GPU and the opportunities this represents for them.  The DA’s new KZN Legislature Caucus does not take this lightly and is committed to delivering on its election promises by bringing excellence to all we do.
